Pi Memorization Contest!
Mrs. Wood challenged the students in our block to memorize as many numbers in pi as they can. There were 2 representatives from each class that competed to smash a pie in her face. The representatives from our class were Juliana and Jared. Juliana memorized 49 numbers and Jared won the contest memorizing 154 numbers!! Great job Juliana and Jared--we are so proud of you!! The runner up was from Mrs. Currie's class and he memorized 108 numbers.
Mrs. Wood, Mrs. Currie and I got our classes together for a little fun 4th hour today. The students were randomly put into groups to rotate through stations. Here are some photos of the fun!
We had a fun Friday in Writing class today! I had each student choose 2 different kinds of candy. They had to use descriptive writing we have discussed in class to describe each piece of candy without saying what it was. Once they were done writing, I played Kidz Bop (Party in the USA) as they walked around the class to sit with other classmates. When the music stopped, they sat down and shared their details about one piece of candy. Their new table-mates had to try to guess what kind of candy was being described. We did the same thing with the other kind of candy and one last time so they were with other classmates to chat while eating their candy. FUN!!
